Show your appreciation to fire fighters by giving Christian gifts of photos from our In Service / Fire Fighter section at www.scripture.pictures.

Each photo can be personalized with the fire fighter’s name.

The photo can be inscribed with “In Honor Of….” or, if deceased, “In Memory of….” with your loved one’s name.

At the top of the photo is: “In Honor of Your Service as a Firefighter”. Isaiah 6:8  follows: “I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send,  and who will go for us? Then said I, Here I am: send me.” (Isaiah 6:8).

From A Manger, to a Cross, to an Empty Tomb…

For unto you a Savior Is Born! Luke 2:21

This Christmas wreath represents the unending, divine circle of love that God the Father shows us through the birth, death and resurrection of His beloved Son, Jesus. When we celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas season, may we also give thanks for His sacrifice on the cross and His glorious resurrection.

Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team wish everyone a blessed Christmas day! May we celebrate the “reason for the season” which is Christ’s birthday!

Scrambling to find Christian gifts for Christmas?

Is the stress of Christmas shopping taking the joy out of the “reason for the season”?

While we are all rushing around preparing for the holidays, let’s stop for a moment and consider what the daily devotional, Jesus Calling says:

“Everyday I manifest My grace in countless places and situations…. As you grow closer to Me, I open your eyes even more of My Presence all around you. Things that most people hardly notice, like shifting shades of sunlight, fill you with heart-bursting Joy. You have eyes that see and ears that hear, so proclaim My abiding Presence in the world.”

(Dec. 28th devotion)

See Psalm 46: 1-3  and 89:15

Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team pray that all of us remain mindful of the presence of God in every step that we take.

God is as close as our next heartbeat. His mercies are new and fresh every morning.

Look for Him this Christmas season.

Lamentation 3:22-23:

“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Thy compassion never fails. Great is thy faithfulness. Morning by morning His mercies I see.”

This Scripture Pictures photo was taken by Henry at a small, local park in Maui, Hawaii. It is a gentle reminder of God’s promise of peace after the storms in all our lives. He gives us new mercies every morning!

FCCNH: Quiche @ Sunday 5:30 PM Service

QUICHE MEFCCNH: Quiche @ Sunday 5:30 PM Service

Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team invite you to attend the Sunday 5:30 PM service at their church – the First Christian Church of North Hollywood (FCCNH).

They are on the Hospitality Committee and serve food every Sunday at the 5:30 PM service.

This Sunday, December 13, 2015, is very special because the First Christian Church of North Hollywood (FCCNH) will be saying good-bye to their beloved Youth Pastor, Justin Floyd.

Pastor Justin is involved in almost every aspect of the church. He is loved by everyone! He has a special calling for our youth.

He will preach the sermon this Sunday, December 13, 2015, at the First Christian Church of North Hollywood (FCCNH). His sermons are always memorable, as he mixes humor, sports stories and God’s love all together into something wonderful.

Please join us all in saying good-bye to him this Sunday.

And here’s a photo of the type of the cheese quiche that Henry and Patti will be serving. It has bacon, mushroom, and various peppers. And there will be a lovely table of food for the 5:30 PM Sunday service – just look to your left as you enter the Social Hall.

In Christ’s Love,

Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team

FCCNH: Prayer Vigil for Peace 12/09/15

Scripture-Pictures-42FCCNH: Prayer Vigil for Peace 12/09/15

Scripture Pictures attended our church’s Prayer Vigil for Peace tonight at the First Christian Church of North Hollywood (FCCNH) in honor of the people who were killed by a terrorist attack in Redlands (California) and in Paris.

For those of you who were not able to make it tonight, Scripture Pictures wants to “bring the prayer vigil” to you.

The First Christian Church of North Hollywood (FCCNH) set up prayer stations outside & inside the Prayer chapel & had a guide for each station. You can do these same steps at home:

First Christian Church of North Hollywood (FCCNH) Prayer Stations:

Faith: Pray for those who carry the burden of bringing and keeping peace. Spend time praying for all the different people working for peace. Try to imagine the burdens they carry. We then placed a rock at the foot of the church’s Peace Pole. (Henry will take a photo of this Peace Pole and we will post it soon – more information coming up!) The rock symbolizes the weight that leaders carry, as they work toward peace. By placing the rock at the foot of the Peace Pole, it represents giving those burdens to God.

HopePray for those who suffer and mourn today. Light a candle to  remember the 14 people who were killed in San Bernardino last week. Pray that the God of all Hope will bring light to the lives of all who mourn.

Love: Pray for peace and beauty. Read and reflect on the words of Isaiah 61:1-7. Choose specific nations and pray for peace. Take a rose petal as a symbol of your trust that God can bring beauty and joy to those nations in the place of the ashes of death and destruction.

Vision: Pray for clear vision of how we might be workers of peace. Stand in front of a mirror and gaze at your own reflection. Understand that peace begins with one person. Ask God how you can make a difference.

Sharing: Pray that we may be able to hear and share one another’s stories. Write, draw, or express your questions, your reflections or your own feelings about what’s happening in our world. Where do you see God in the midst of your living?

God bless all of you!

Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team

Scripture Pictures at AACC in Nashville

IMG_50161 Scripture Pictures at AACC in Nashville

Patti from the Scripture Pictures Team and her colleague, Christian counselor, John Derenski, MA, MFT, presented a workshop on Internet and Emotional Affairs at the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) “Be Strong” conference in Nashville (from Sept. 23rd through the 26th). The conference was held at the Opryland Hotel.

About 7,000 people attended the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) “Be Strong” conference.

If you are near the Nashville area, you might want to check out the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC)  conference website and sign-up for some of the amazing workshops for 2017 (the conference is held every two years).

Soooooo many amazing Christian speakers and singers shared at the AACC conference – John Townsend, Jeremy Camp, Joni Eareckson-Tada, John Hagee, John Ortman, Tim Clinton….and so many more.

Patti and John want to thank all of you who prayed for them and their presentation at the AACC conference.

Here is a photo of Patti and John right before they gave their workshop. John’s wife, Dorie, took the photo. Dorrie also speaks with John in various Christian workshops.

Easter Ham: Scripture Pictures

photoEaster Ham: Scripture Pictures

The Scripture Pictures Team wanted to share a photo of Patti’s Easter ham. She baked it for seven hours. It was so tender it almost fell apart. Her secret ingredient is peach nectar – she uses it as part of her basting recipe.

Henry and Patti serve on the Hospitality Committee at their church, the First Christian Church of North Hollywood. They attend the Sunday at 5:30 PM service. Patti’s Easter ham was part of the food that was served to the congregation.

The Scripture Pictures Team  want to invite you to attend the First Christian Church of North Hollywood. If you’d like us to meet you at the church, just e-mail us using the Contact Form on the Home Page.

There is always a full table of food at the 5:30 PM service, and you are welcome to take food home with you, too.

Our church’s worship team, called Spirit Song, is filled with the Holy Spirit. And our pastors speak from the heart!

Pastor Robert Bock: Scripture Pictures

Happy Easter to you and yours from the Scripture Pictures Team!

Our senior pastor, Robert Bock, of the First Christian Church of North Hollywood wrote a touching Easter meditation this year. Pastor Bob is not just loved by the congregation of the First Christian Church of North Hollywood, he is beloved.

Here is an excerpt of what Pastor Robert Bock wrote:

“On this Easter Sunday we no longer look “toward” the Cross. Instead, we look back at the Cross, looking with history on our side and two centuries of knowledge and faith that says – ‘on the Cross He died and from this Cross He rose’. The Cross was not the end of Jesus’ journey any more than was the empty tomb. Neither the cross nor the tomb could hold the Son of God.  They were simply stopping points on Jesus’ way back to be with His Father.

Having spent this Holy Season looking toward the Cross, we can now look back upon the Cross and reflect on the depth of God’s Love that was expressed toward humanity through it. When looking toward the Cross all that can be seen is suffering and death. Looking back at the Cross, however, gives a totally different picture. Looking back we see clearly the light of Heaven reflecting from it.

May that same light shine on each of us toady as we celebrate Easter, the day when the power of the Cross was banished forever!”

In His Love,

Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters….

This Scripture Pictures photo was taken by Henry in the Sierras near Lone Pine, California. Patti says, “The series of cascading waterfalls remind me of the Lord’s abundant, overflowing love and grace for us.”
