Patti from the Scripture Pictures Team and her colleague, Christian counselor, John Derenski, MA, MFT, presented a workshop on Internet and Emotional Affairs at the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) “Be Strong” conference in Nashville (from Sept. 23rd through the 26th). The conference was held at the Opryland Hotel.

About 7,000 people attended the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) “Be Strong” conference.

If you are near the Nashville area, you might want to check out the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC)  conference website and sign-up for some of the amazing workshops for 2017 (the conference is held every two years).

Soooooo many amazing Christian speakers and singers shared at the AACC conference – John Townsend, Jeremy Camp, Joni Eareckson-Tada, John Hagee, John Ortman, Tim Clinton….and so many more.

Patti and John want to thank all of you who prayed for them and their presentation at the AACC conference.

Here is a photo of Patti and John right before they gave their workshop. John’s wife, Dorie, took the photo. Dorrie also speaks with John in various Christian workshops.

God’s Hope: Scripture Pictures

Joel Osteen says:

“Are you in an emotional prison today? You may not have thought about it that way, but if you are holding unforgiveness or bitterness toward someone who has wronged you — whether it was five, ten or thirty years ago — that is an emotional prison.

God’s Word promises that if you’ll step out of that prison and become a prisoner of hope, He will restore back to you double for your trouble! That means if someone wrongs you, instead of getting negative and bitter, your attitude should be, “They just did me a favor. They just qualified me for double!” That’s the attitude of a prisoner of hope.

Lock into the attitude of victory that says, “I will not be defeated! It may look impossible, but I know God can do the impossible. They may have treated me wrongly, but I’m not worried. I know God is my vindicator. It may be taking a long time, but in due season, I know I will reap if I just don’t give up.” Stay strong and in the place of hope knowing that you will come out with double for your trouble!”

“Return to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I will restore double to you.”
(Zechariah 9:12, NKJV)

Hope in Jesus: Scripture Pictures

Scriptures-Pictures-2Hope in Jesus: Scripture Pictures
Here’s a poignant message from Joel Osteen on hope in Christ called:

Brighter Days Ahead!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day.”
(Proverbs 4:18, NLT)

Are you facing a situation that seems dim today? Maybe you can’t quite see what’s going to happen in the future. As a believer, God promises that your path will shine brighter and brighter as you seek Him. He promises that the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn shining brighter to the full day!

What does it mean to be righteous? Righteousness is simply being in “right standing” with God. Being in “right standing” with God is about surrendering your life to Him. It’s about obeying His commands and seeking His plan for your life on a daily basis.

No matter what you may be facing today, know that God has a bright future for you. He wants to show you His ways and lead you down a bright path! Seek Him in all things and trust that you have brighter days ahead!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for giving me a bright future. I know that You have a wonderful plan and purpose for me. Show me Your ways as I put You first in all things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
— Joel & Victoria Osteen

Do Not Lose Heart!

Even when I am…hardpressed, perplexed, persecuted, struck down, I am not destroyed. For I fix my eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Therefore, I do not lose heart. My spirit is being renewed day by day.”

This Scripture Pictures photo was taken by Henry at sunset along the Pacific Ocean near Dana Point, California. Henry says this shot of the lone person standing on the rocks, facing ominous surroundings, is a reminder of the times when we need to wait upon the Lord to reveal His hope – as represented in the light coming through the clouds.

Abundant Life: Scripture Pictures

Feeling down and out about marriage or family problems? Are you struggling with paying your bills? Dealing with stress at work?

Maybe right now you’re saying to yourself, where is this abundant life that Scriptures promise?

The daily devotional called Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria Osteen may comfort and inspire you:

“…I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10, ESV

Here’s what Joel and Victoria Osteen write: Are you living the abundant life Jesus came to give you? You may not have the biggest house or newest car, but God promises abundant life for you. His abundance goes way beyond the things we can see in the natural. It means that you can have peace in the midst of a storm. You can have joy when things seem uncertain. You can have hope when circumstances seem hopeless. You can live and enjoy life to the fullest every single day because you have the Creator of life on the inside of you. Sometimes it’s easy to look at this verses and think, “God is going to give me abundant life some day.” But the truth is, God wants you to have abundant life TODAY. Ask Him to show you His abundant favor, blessing, and peace. Focus on Him and let Him show His abundant life  – today!

Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team thank God for the wisdom and encouragement that Joel and Victoria Osteen share with millions of people each day.

In His Love,

Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

This Scripture Pictures photo was taken by Henry in Belize. The colorful steps, accented by conch shells, lead up to a modest, very colorful house. Henry says, “This shot reminds me of the pure simplicity of a Godly life.” While any of us can get caught up in the rush of secular values and materialism, the Lord reminds us that it is the pure of heart that will see God.

Why worship when you can worry?

One of the morning routines for the Scripture Pictures Team is to start every day by reading the daily e-mail devotional from Joel Osteen.

This week, Joel Osteen had a great devotional called: WORRY OR WORSHIP? Here is an excerpt below:

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

The enemy would love to get you worrying instead of worshiping God. When the devil brings you thoughts of worry, anxiety and fear, let them be a reminder to thank God that His answer is on the way. Say, “Devil, thank you for reminding me,” and then say, “Father, I thank You that You are at work on my behalf.” Do you need a victory in your life? Then learn to worship instead of worry!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, You are truly the great God who is the Provider of everything we need and much more. I want to be a worshiper instead of a worrier. So today I claim Your promise of deliverance from thoughts of fear or anxiety. Thank You for giving me the victory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

This photo was taken off the Big Island of Hawaii at sunset. Behind the dark clouds are streaks of sunlight that symbolize there is always hope in the Lord, no matter how dire the situation may appear.

Christian Gifts: Scripture Pictures

Scriptures-Pictures-59Christian Gifts: Scripture Pictures

Have you heard of the Christian saying, “Why pray when you can worry?”

It is a challenging reminder to take our worries and fears to the Lord instead of staying stuck in the quicksand of anxiety that pulls us deeper into despair.

The enemy delights in tricking us into worrying. Satan dances with joy when our fears make us physically sick and spiritually broken.

The Scripture Pictures Team encourage you to let your fears be a reminder to take them to the foot of the cross where all restoration is found.

Joel Osteen says: When the devil brings you thoughts of worry, anxiety and fear, let them be a reminder to thank God that His answer is on the way. Say, “Devil, thank you for reminding me,” and then say, “Father, I thank You that You are at work on my behalf.”                         (Daily devotion for March 7th)

“See, when you drive home today, you’ve got a big windshield on the front of your car. And you’ve got a little bitty rearview mirror. “The more you talk about negative things in your life, the more you call them in. Speak victory not defeat.” – Joel Osteen

“God would not have put a dream in your heart if He had not already given you everything you need to fulfill it.” – Joel Osteen
