Mother’s Day Gifts: Scripture Pictures

Patti’s  Mom’s Cross

Hi, this is Patti from Scripture Pictures – Henry’s wife. It’s almost Mother’s Day, so I wanted to share about my mom’s cross and why it’s on our Free Prayer Card.

If one verse from the Word of God described my Mom’s life, it would be Matthew 16:24: “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”

Mom “took up her cross” by keeping our family together through heart-breaking times. She showed my dad compassion for his lifelong battle with alcoholism and PTSD from World War II. Mom bravely took care of my sister who died at age 21 after suffering a long, painful illness.

Mom took up her cross once again when she had cancer. She was 49. I was just 16. Mom became desperately sick very rapidly. But she had God’s peace that passeth all understand.

Mom took experimental medications – not to help her live longer, because it was too late – but to help other cancer patients in the future. When visitors came, they would cry because Mom looked so sick. But Mom would comfort them and pray for their needs.

Mom’s most prized possession was her gold cross necklace that she wore for many years. Two days before she died, she gave it to me.

When I hold Mom’s cross, I  realize that not even death can separate me from her love.

We, at Scripture Pictures, want to wish you and all the moms a very blessed Mother’s Day!

In His Love,

Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team

Mother’s Day Gifts: Scripture Pictures

Celebrate Mother’s Day with bible verses about mothers that are sure  to uplift and inspire. There are many women in the Bible who are precious examples of a mother’s sacrifice and love.

Proverbs 31: 25-28 (KJV):

Strength and honour [are] her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue [is] the law of kindness.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he praiseth her.

Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

Favour [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain: [but] a woman [that] feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team pray that your Mother’s Day is a blessed Sunday, indeed.

In His Love,

Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team

Love Lasts Forever

Love is patient and kind. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Love will last forever.”

This photo was taken in Henry and Patti’s family room for a very special Mother’s Day brunch. Its sophisticated look makes it an artful Mother’s Day gift for your wife, mother, grandmother or sister.

Scripture Pictures for Sale       Mothers Day

It is almost Mother’s Day, so I want to ask you – who’s the strongest Christian woman you  know? For me, that woman was my mom, Elizabeth Swaney.

My mom was a living testimony of God’s anointing during the darkest night of the soul.

Mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer when she was just 49. I was 16. The doctors said she had less than a year to live. Mom became deathly ill very fast. But Mom’s faith was unstoppable.

Mom took experimental medications – not to help her, because her cancer was too advanced – but with the hope of helping other cancer patients in the future.

People who came to visit Mom would often break down and cry because she was obviously suffering physically. I remember men from the church who visited with Mom – they’d just burst into tears because her body was dying in front of them. But Mom would comfort her visitors, quote scripture, and pray for their needs – yes, she’s pray for her visitors and minister to them.

Mom’s miracle was not about being healed, but how she lived out her faith as she lay dying, awaiting to go home to be with the Lord.

I pray that for this Mother’s Day, you will be able to hug your mom – whether she is still on earth on in Heaven!

In Christ’s Love,

Patti (Henry’s wife) from Scripture Pictures

Here are some quotes on faith to uplift and encourage you:

Faith is not believing that God can, it’s knowing that He WILL.”

Faith isn’t the ability to believe long and far into the misty future. It’s simply taking God at His Word and taking the next step.” Joni Erickson Tada

Faith is not without worry or care, but faith is fear that said a prayer.” – Author Unknown

Faith is like a radar that sees through the fog.” Corrie Ten Boom

Deliverance

“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer.”

This Scripture Pictures photo of a wooden cross was taken by Henry alongside a remote mountain road. Henry says, “It reminds me of God’s deliverance from any situation – no matter how dire, dangerous, or impossible it might seem.” This photo is an excellent image to encourage anyone who is seeking deliverance or wants to give praise to the Lord for His deliverance power.
