The holidays can be very difficult times for people in recovery from drugs, alcohol, and other addictions. Scripture Pictures want to acknowledge our brothers-and- sisters-in-Christ who are in recovery this holiday season.
Why are holidays so challenging for people in recovery? Here are 4 reasons why:
1. Sad or traumatizing memories from the past, including childhood issues of abuse, neglect and abandonment.
2. Current struggles, hardships and conflicts.
3. Fears, anxieties, and worries about the future.
4. Holiday parties with alcohol and drug use, and other temptations that can trigger relapse.
Looking for Christian Recovery gifts?
Scripture Pictures has a section of Scripture Pictures photos for our brothers-and- sisters-in-Christ who are in recovery. Of course, any of our Scripture Pictures photos make wonderful Christian Recovery gifts.
Patti’s dad was an alcoholic. He had PTSD from World War II as a medic on an aircraft carrier. He started drinking while he was in the Navy. So, recovery is very near to Patti’s heart and soul.
In Christ Love,
Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team
