Patti, Henry’s wife, will be a speaker at one of the workshops at the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) “Be Strong” conference in Nashville from Sept. 23rd through the 26th. The conference will be held at the Opryland Hotel.

About 7,000 people are expected to attend the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) “Be Strong” conference.

If you are near the Nashville area, you might want to check out the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) “Be Strong” conference website and sign-up for some of the amazing workshops. Soooooo many Christian speakers and singers will be presenting – John Townsend, Jeremy Camp, Joni Eareckson-Tada, John Hagee, John Ortman, Tim Clinton….and more.

May we ask for prayer for Patti’s workshop? She will be teaching with her friend, John Derenski, who is also a Christian therapist. The workshop is called:  “Is It Really Cheating? Internet and Emotional Affairs: Biblical Strategies for Restoring Couples” and it will be given on Saturday from 2:25 – 4:00 PM.  We pray that the Holy Spirit will use their workshop to offer hope and healing.

And please pray for a wave of the Holy Spirit to anoint the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) “Be Strong” conference!

Scriptures for an Attitude of Gratitude

Scripture-Pictures-52Scriptures for an Attitude of Gratitude

As Christians, we’re called to be thankful in all situations. Although we may not have power over many of the events that happen in our lives, we still have the choice to respond to situations with a bitter spirit or a grateful heart.

Some Biblical quotes on gratitude include:

Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Ways to  increase our personal gratitude:

– Start a daily gratitude journal by listing 3 things you are grateful to have in your life.

– Send a note to your pastors thanking them specifically for how they minister to you.

– Write an e-mail or text to thank  five people who have impacted your life.

– Volunteer in your community and observe how  people are thankful for what little they have.

In His Footsteps,

Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team

Here’s a Memorial Day Poem that is sure to uplift and inspire:

The Best on Earth:

A Veteran’s Day Tribute

If someone has done military service,
They earn the title “veteran,” and more;
They earn our deep respect and admiration;
That they are special no one can ignore.

They sacrificed the comforts we enjoy;
The list is long of all the things they gave.
Our veterans are extraordinary people;
They’re loyal, dedicated, true and brave.

When terror and invasion were real threats,
They showed us they could handle any storm.
We owe our freedoms and our very lives
To our veterans, who served in uniform.

Our veterans should be celebrities;
They’re exceptional; no other group compares.
We’re grateful for the many things they’ve done;
They’re always in our hearts and in our prayers.

We owe our veterans support and friendship;
Let no one ever question what they’re worth.
These men and women served us and our country,
Our veterans–the very best on earth.

Sadly, he was exposed to many chemicals during the War and later died when Patti’s mom was just 12 years old.

Please send us your prayer requests for any of your loved ones who are currently in the military, or who have returned home but are still dealing with the aftermath of their service to our country.

Photo Tips: Scripture Pictures

Interested in photo tips from an award-winning photographer?

The Scripture Pictures Team did a series of interviews with Henry Lehn, photographer for the Scripture Pictures site.

He offers photo tips for all photographers – from beginners to the most advanced.

Photo Tip #5: More on Utilizing Leading lines

Use leading lines, also known as converging lines, to attract the viewer’s focus into your image.

In landscape photography, examples of leading lines include roads, paths, and fences.

Anything that creates a line that leads a viewer’s attention into the photo can be used.

Henry says, “The Scriptures Picture photo of Matthew 11:28 is a great example of the use of leading lines. The natural grooves in the rock formation lead the viewer’s focus right to the woman who’s sitting at the edge of the canyon.”

For a larger view, please click on the Scriptures Picture photo of Matthew 11:28 called: God Will Give You Rest!

Come to me, all of you who are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

This Scriptures Picture photo was taken in an area called the “Wave” near the border of Utah and Arizona. It is a great gift for anyone who wants a powerful, visual testimony that captures both God’s sovereignty and peace all in the same image.

Blood of Jesus: Scripture Pictures

Scripture-Pictures-96Blood of Jesus: Scripture Pictures

Only the Blood of Jesus

Only the blood of Jesus,
Only His nail scarred hand,
Can wash a soul white as snow…
Creating a brand new man.

Only the blood of Jesus,
The Lamb of God from above,
Can remove all sin and stain…
Oh, what mercy, grace and love!

Only the blood of Jesus,
Can reach the deep sins concealed,
Touching each and every spot…
It’s by His stripes we’re healed.

Only the blood of Jesus,
Applied to a contrite heart,
Can change a soul’s destiny…
And eternal life impart.

Praise God for that precious blood,
Flowing from heaven to earth,
A stream of cleansing power…
That redeems and gives new birth.

The Blood of Jesus: Scripture Pictures

Scripture-Pictures-64       The Blood of Jesus: Scripture Pictures

On this Good Friday, Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team want to share some Scripture verses about the Blood of Jesus (from the King James Version):

1 John 1:7 – But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Hebrews 9:14 – How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Hebrews 9:22 – And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Romans 5:9 – Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

1 John 1:7-9 – But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Revelation 12:11 – And they overcame Him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Acts 20:28 – Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Hebrews 10:19 – Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.

Revelation 1:5 – And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood….

Colossians 1:20 – And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, [I say], whether [they be] things in earth, or things in heaven.
