I Plead the Blood: Scripture Pictures

I Plead the Blood

I stood within a courtroom
Filled to capacity,
With every race and nation
All staring right at me.
The Judge walked in, took His seat
My crimes began to read.
I raised my head as I looked at Him,
When He said, “how do you plead?”
I said, “I plead the Blood of Jesus.”
Against the crimes You’ve read,
I plead the Blood of Jesus
They’re covered as He said.
For His death on Calvary
Assured me I was free,
There’s now no condemnation,
Tis Jesus’ Blood, I plead.
Then He read out all my crimes,
Listed them one by one,
And I was so ashamed of
The awful things I’d done.
Then He looked again at me,
This awesome, fearful Judge
He said, ‘how do you plead?’
I said, ” I plead the Blood.
I plead the Blood of Jesus
Against the crimes You’ve read,
I plead the Blood of Jesus
They’re covered as He said.
For His death on Calvary
Assured me I was free,
There’s now no condemnation,
Tis Jesus’ Blood, I plead.

In the Arms of Jesus, We are Fearless!

For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of sound mind.

Henry took this Scripture Pictures photo of Tahiti from a helicopter where he had the doors removed to get a better view.  Patti says, “Talk about being fearless, the pilot duct-taped Henry and I into the seats so we would not blow out!” This shot is perfect for those who love adventure and marvel at God’s creation.

Pleading the Blood of Jesus

By Pastor Jack Hayford

On this Good Friday, The Scripture Pictures Team wanted to share what Pastor Jack Hayford wrote about the meaning of “pleading the blood of Jesus”:

“When we talk about “pleading” the blood of Jesus, we are not talking about “begging.” “Pleading the blood” should not be considered a desperation exercise; God has not called us to come begging before Him. Many of us were raised in an environment where we heard the words, “Father God, we come under the blood of Jesus.” Or, “Lord, we cover this matter with the blood of Jesus.” Even before we understood it, we believed in the power of the Blood, because we believed that Jesus is the Son of God, and that the Cross was the instrument of global redemption which broke the power of hell.

Pleading the blood of Jesus is not the superstitious application of a magic formula of words. Rather, a spiritual dynamic is being applied. The power of the blood of Jesus Christ is greater than both the energy of our own humanity and that of our Adversary. The power that saves is also the power that releases, delivers, and neutralizes the enterprises of hell and the weaknesses of the flesh. The appropriation of the power of the Blood in tough situations is intended for every believer in Christ to know, to understand, and to employ.

It’s important that we understand the reason for the words we use so they do not become formula, otherwise one of two things will happen. Either what we say becomes a superstitious exercise in which we are depending on the words rather than on the understanding that gives the words their power; or some people will not use words related to the blood of Jesus because they don’t understand the spiritual dynamic, leaving them without a resource they need.”

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

The “mysterious” reflection is from a building across the courtyard.” Henry did not realize he had captured this reflection until he viewed the photo on his computer.

Blood of Jesus: Scripture Pictures

Scripture-Pictures-96Blood of Jesus: Scripture Pictures

Only the Blood of Jesus

Only the blood of Jesus,
Only His nail scarred hand,
Can wash a soul white as snow…
Creating a brand new man.

Only the blood of Jesus,
The Lamb of God from above,
Can remove all sin and stain…
Oh, what mercy, grace and love!

Only the blood of Jesus,
Can reach the deep sins concealed,
Touching each and every spot…
It’s by His stripes we’re healed.

Only the blood of Jesus,
Applied to a contrite heart,
Can change a soul’s destiny…
And eternal life impart.

Praise God for that precious blood,
Flowing from heaven to earth,
A stream of cleansing power…
That redeems and gives new birth.

Deliverance

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer.

You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.

Christian Quotes: Scripture Pictures

Why worship when you can worry?

One of the morning routines for the Scripture Pictures Team is to start every day by reading the daily e-mail devotional from Joel Osteen.

This week, Joel Osteen had a great devotional called: WORRY OR WORSHIP? Here is an excerpt below:

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

The enemy would love to get you worrying instead of worshiping God. When the devil brings you thoughts of worry, anxiety and fear, let them be a reminder to thank God that His answer is on the way. Say, “Devil, thank you for reminding me,” and then say, “Father, I thank You that You are at work on my behalf.” Do you need a victory in your life? Then learn to worship instead of worry!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, You are truly the great God who is the Provider of everything we need and much more. I want to be a worshiper instead of a worrier. So today I claim Your promise of deliverance from thoughts of fear or anxiety. Thank You for giving me the victory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

You can find this photo on the Shop Page in the Hope and Inspiration section under Healing.

This photo was taken off the Big Island of Hawaii at sunset. Behind the dark clouds are streaks of sunlight that symbolize there is always hope in the Lord, no matter how dire the situation may appear.

God bless Joel Osteen!
