Hope in God: Scripture Pictures

Scriptures-Pictures-2 dana ptHope in God: Scripture Pictures

Henry Lehn, the photographer for Scripture Pictures, has added a new photo to the site about hope in God.

The  photo is called: Do Not Lose Heart!

The Scripture is 2 Corinthians 4:7-18:

Even when I am…hardpressed, perplexed, persecuted, struck down, I am not destroyed. For I fix my eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Therefore, I do not lose heart. My spirit is being renewed day by day.”

This Scripture Pictures photo was taken by Henry at sunset along the Pacific Ocean near Dana Point, California. Henry says this shot of the lone person standing on the rocks, facing ominous surroundings, is a reminder of the times when we need to wait upon the Lord to reveal His hope – as represented in the light coming through the clouds.

In His Love,

Henry, Patti and the Scripture Pictures Team

Christian Gifts: Scripture Pictures

Scripture-Pictures-64Christian Gifts: Scripture Pictures

When we tell the Christmas story of Jesus’ birth, we often focus on the angelic image of  baby Jesus born in a manger. One of the most inspiring Bible verses at Christmas is Luke 2:11: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord”.

While the virgin birth of Jesus is a miraculous story, it is not complete without also telling the story of Jesus’ death on the cross. Thirty-three years after His birth, He was destined to be nailed to a rugged cross to pay the ultimate price for our sins.

But the Christmas story does not end there. On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead! Luke 24:2-3, one of the most inspiring Bible verses in Scripture says:

“And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.”

When we celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas season, may we also give thanks for His sacrifice on the cross and His glorious resurrection.

Christian Gifts: Scripture Pictures

mom swaneyChristian Gifts: Scripture Pictures

Who’s the strongest Christian woman you have known?

For me, that woman was my mom.

She was a living testimony of God’s grace toward others.

Her favorite inspiring Bible verses were the 23rd Psalm and John 3:16.

At age 49, Mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I was age 16. She was given less than a year to live. Mom became desperately ill very quickly.

But my mom’s faith was unshakable. Mom took experimental medications – not to help her because it was too late – but with the hope of helping other cancer patients in the future.

Visitors who came to see Mom would often break down and cry because she was obviously suffering. But Mom would comfort her visitors, recite inspiring Bible verses and pray for them.

Mom’s miracle was not about being healed, but how she lived out her faith as she lay dying.

In Christ’s Love From Scripture Pictures,

Patti and Henry & the Scripture Pictures Team

P.S.  This is one of my favorite photos of Mom. She was newly married to my dad.

At Scripture Pictures  we have a photo with John 3:16 inscribed on it. Please see https://www.scripture.pictures/product/john-316/
