Happy Memorial Day: Scripture Pictures

Here are 5 reasons to thank a military service member – either a veteran or a soldier in active service – on this Memorial Day:

1. Freedom to worship God openly in America.

2. Freedom of speech.

3. Protection of the rights of women to get an education.

4. Protection for children from brutal child labor and sex trafficking.

5.  The right to vote.

Millions of people from all over the world do not experience any of these freedoms.

On this Memorial Day, may we all get on our knees and thank God for the blessings that have been bestowed upon our country.

And may we remain vigilant, as Satan engages in spiritual warfare to try to take away these freedoms that our military service men and women have fought so very hard to obtain and sustain.

Scriptures-Pictures-2Wounded Warrior: Scripture.Pictures

Scripture.Pictures wants to pay tribute to the Wounded Warrior Project that has helped thousands of service members – and their families – as they return home from the battlefield by:

  • Raising awareness and enlisting the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members.
  • Helping injured service members aid and assist each other.
  • Providing unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.

The Wounded Warrior Project has a variety of programs to support the service members’  “Mind, Body, Economic and Engagement” needs.

Please take a few moments over this Memorial Day weekend to find out more information about the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.

And please consider making a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project to help the men and women who served our country who are now in need of our support and love.

When you go to church this weekend, remember to thank our military who fought to preserve our freedom to worship the Lord openly and freely.

Do Not Lose Heart!

Even when I am…hardpressed, perplexed, persecuted, struck down, I am not destroyed. For I fix my eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Therefore, I do not lose heart. My spirit is being renewed day by day.”

This Scripture Pictures photo was taken by Henry at sunset along the Pacific Ocean near Dana Point, California. Henry says this shot of the lone person standing on the rocks, facing ominous surroundings, is a reminder of the times when we need to wait upon the Lord to reveal His hope – as represented in the light coming through the clouds.

Here’s a Memorial Day Poem that is sure to uplift and inspire:

The Best on Earth:

A Veteran’s Day Tribute

If someone has done military service,
They earn the title “veteran,” and more;
They earn our deep respect and admiration;
That they are special no one can ignore.

They sacrificed the comforts we enjoy;
The list is long of all the things they gave.
Our veterans are extraordinary people;
They’re loyal, dedicated, true and brave.

When terror and invasion were real threats,
They showed us they could handle any storm.
We owe our freedoms and our very lives
To our veterans, who served in uniform.

Our veterans should be celebrities;
They’re exceptional; no other group compares.
We’re grateful for the many things they’ve done;
They’re always in our hearts and in our prayers.

We owe our veterans support and friendship;
Let no one ever question what they’re worth.
These men and women served us and our country,
Our veterans–the very best on earth.
